Mainly, how is it? I remember playing drifting, but I could never slide. Like, there wasn't even a choice to turn off traction control. Did they patch that or something? Is it too much arcade?

Meh. I got it when pre order was good. Played it for about 3 weeks. And i havent been back on it since. Its not the same as grid 1 was. To me the appeal for grid was that there were consequences to you crashing. you wreck, your race is over. Its not really like that any more. And instead of sticking to the non complex, fun simulation-esque, arcade enjoyment style racing, they muddled with that formula.
They also got rid of demo derby, and no cockpit view.
I say, get garrys mod. And enjoy years of interesting exciting, smart, gaming.
Or just keep waiting til BeamNG comes out with their release for the ultimate in soft body physics engine game.
Also, grid 2 is more drifty than grid 1.

I didn't like it. It feels like the only way to turn the car is to drift every corner. I should mention I prefer simulations as I pretty much only play iRacing these days, with the occasional session of Forza 4. But if Codemasters could do a better job of balancing sim vs arcade like Fourza and Gran Turismo, I could enjoy it a lot more.

I reviewed it a while back. Needless to say its no racing sim. It is its own brand of fun though.
